The Social Network ¬ DVD

Facebook: You’ve been to the website, got the app. on your phone and now you can watch the film – The only thing really left to do is to go buy the Tee Shirt!
On a fall night in 2003, Harvard undergrad and computer programming genius Mark Zuckerberg sits down at his computer and heatedly begins working on a new idea.
In a fury of blogging and programming, what begins in his dorm room soon becomes a global social network and a revolution in communication.
A mere six years and 500 million friends later, Mark Zuckerberg is the youngest billionaire in history… but for this entrepreneur, success leads to both personal and legal complications
For those of you unfamiliar with the premise, the film is loosely based on the book ‘The Accidental Billionaires’ and it chronicles the foundation and rise of Facebook. By all accounts it actually looks pretty damn decent.
The film was written by Aaron Sorkin & distributed by Columbia Pictures and is set for an October 1, 2010 release.
None of the Facebook staff, including founder Mark Zuckerberg, will be involved with the project. One of the co-founders, Eduardo Saverin, was a consultant for Mezrich’s book.
Let’s hope the nerdcore in us all can put the horrors of ‘Hackers’ to rest when this hits the big screen in October!
